Spine chilling and engaging
The venue was Intimate for such an international singer songwriter. The acoustics were great the vibe of the staff friendly and informed. Consequently booked to see Georgia Ruth at the gate based on the Kelly Jones experience.

Simply Brilliant
I loved everything about this show. I've never been to the Gate in Cardiff before, but was a great venue for a small, intimate gig. The venue were really organised in getting everyone scanned in and wristbands on, meaning there was very little wait or queue time. The venue is a nice size for this type of event, making it feel really special to watch someone like Kelly Jones and the band, like you were a VIP guest. The sound was amazing, the band were fantastic, especially the string section, and what can you say about Kelly's voice. Just unmistakable, taking everyone on an emotional journey through his new album, and threw in an old favourites, which was also fab. If you get chance to go and watch this show...do it! I've seen the Stereophonics about 6 times live, and this is right up there with my favourite shows, as it is completely different from what you would usually expect. Tempted to try and get tickets to see it again! Will definitely keep an eye on other events at the Gate too, as it was such a great venue for a smaller, more intimate gig.

Kelly Jones is best known as the singer-songwriter of Welsh indie-rock band Stereophonics who hit No. 1 with the smash hit single "Dakota".
Raised in the former mining village of Cwmaman, Jones formed Stereophonics in 1992 who exploded later in the decade with the debut album Word Gets Around which includes the singles "Local Boy in the Photograph", "More Life in a Tramps Vest" and "A Thousand Trees".
Further multi-platinum-selling records include Performance and Cocktails (1999), Just Enough Education to Perform (2001), You Gotta Go There to Come Back (2003) and Language. Sex. Violence. Other? (2005).
His solo career has seen the release of the albums Only the Names Have Been Changed (2007) and Inevitable Incredible (2024).
