I absolutely loved the gig! Stereo MCs had an amazing sound quality, great stage energy and really powerful bass so you couldn't stand still :) Inspiral Carpets were more mellow and lovely. And Happy Mondays... Took me straight back to the 90s. Thanks to all the band members, to Bez for his infectious smile and dance moves, to Shaun for his funny stories in between songs, and to Rowetta for shining glamorously XX

Happy Mondays, Rock City, Nottingham - 16th March 2024
The venue was too small for amount of people. Couldn't get back into the room for Happy Mondays.

What a great gig. Especially with Stereo MC's and Inspiral Carpets as support. Seeing them again in Sheffield next week, can't wait!

Happy Mondays, a legendary British band formed in Salford in the late 80s, embodies the vibrant spirit of the Madchester music scene.
Fronted by the enigmatic Shaun Ryder and joined by legendary dancer and maraca shaker Bez, their fusion of indie rock, funk, and dance elements catapulted them to cult status.
With their landmark album "Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches" in 1990, they unleashed anthems like "Step On" and "Kinky Afro," defining a generation.
Known for their chaotic live performances and hedonistic lifestyle, the band was an emblem of the era's excess and creativity.
Happy Mondays' enduring influence on alternative music and their enduring appeal to fans worldwide make them an iconic force in British music history.
Their complete discography includes albums Squirrel and G-Man Twenty Four Hour Party People Plastic Face Carnt Smile (White Out) (1987), Bummed (1988), Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches (1990), Yes Please! (1992) and Uncle Dysfunktional (2007).
