Amazing Performance

Arrived at the venue with my 17 year old daughter, who has brainwashed me into taking her to see Emma for the third year in a row. Two other groups were performing that night and so the crowd was large and loud. As a disabled person I had been told we would be able to enter ten minutes before, and as my daughter had a VIP ticket and I had to collect mine from the box office, we assumed, (wrongly), that this would be taken into account. However, we got in, I went to get my ticket and my daughter went off to her VIP queue. By the time I had gotten out the queue was long and I had to wait for it to subside before entry into the disabled seating area. There was only bar stools to sit on, so I did. When the concert eventually started I was in quite some pain, but I really, really enjoyed the support groups. Then came Emma. This young lady produced another flawless and rocked up performance of her new album songs, as well as some slightly improved versions of some old favourites. Her hardcore fans loved it and I was as transfixed as she was. Her vocal range has improved massively over the previous years performance, and that was already good. She had the audience eating out of her hands and some of the songs had us, (yes - me too), in tears. In the last three years I have seen this young lady move from a slightly awkward and vocally reticent performer into a polished, professional and vocally amazing female singer that commands the audience as well as the stage. To be honest though she has always had the audience in the palms of her hands. This year though, there was something different. A quiet confidence that wasn't there before. I initially started coming to these concerts to offer my daughter moral support and confidence. Three years later my daughter Jessica is more confident and doesn't really need her dad with her. But now I'm a 50 year old fan of Emma's music. Sorry if I don't fit into the age group Emma, but your music borrows from many generations of sound and I love it. Now, back to my Pink Floyd collection...

Energetic and Fantastic Performance

I saw Emma with my daughter last year at the end of her tour and to be quite honest she was good, but not perfect. This year I can only add that she far exceeded that performance. What an amazing young artist. Spot on vocals, great pop-punk style and all interspersed with quiet acoustic spots. She has really developed as a performer. This was no doubt helped by a different backing band, who were nothing less than excellent all the way through. Especially "Brian". Great new live arrangements of her classic tracks, a better overall mix of the sound and bless her - a moving tribute to those who lost their lives in Manchester. I went as a chaperone to my daughter and ended up leaving a fan. Will not be missing the next gig, reminds me of my youth.

Was a pure bop

I was amazed at how good Emma and her band were, my only problem was I left for the train because I didn't want to miss it and be stuck in Newcastle and I had to miss my favourite song fear the future :(
